SCfC is delivered through a shared decision‑making model that brings together Local Community Boards, Facilitating Partner organisations, and an Implementation Support Provider, working in partnership with the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA). Each role is distinct and supports the overall aim of improving outcomes for children, young people and families through a place‑based, community‑led approach.

Local Community Boards

Local Community Boards (LCB) are made up of respected local community members with the interest, experience and cultural authority to guide decisions about children, young people and families. LCBs set the community vision and priorities for SCfC and play a central role in shaping what services and activities are funded and delivered in their community.

Facilitating Partner Organisations

Facilitating Partners (FPs) are local Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations, funded by NIAA, that manage and deliver SCfC at the community level. Their role is to implement the community’s vision, as set out by the LCB, and to coordinate services and activities in line with the approved Community Plan.

Implementation Support Provider

Ninti One is funded by NIAA as the Implementation Support Provider for SCfC and works alongside Local Community Boards, Facilitating Partners and NIAA to support consistent, high‑quality implementation of the program, strengthen governance and planning, build monitoring and evaluation capability, and share learning and evidence across communities, without delivering services directly.

Community led decisions. Local priorities. Better outcomes for children.

Stronger Communities for Children supports communities to set priorities and deliver activities that improve outcomes for children, families and communities.
